Chris Sutton and Alistair Bruce-Ball were taking calls and answering questions from fans on BBC’s 5 Live 606 podcast and discussed West Ham’s current situation in the Premier League.
Times are certainly tough over at West Ham and the Hammers are still fighting hard in order to somehow survive this season and remain in the top-flight come the summer.
And when Sutton was asked about his opinion on whether they’ll stay up or not and his thoughts on David Moyes, he actually had some positive words for the fans who were listening.
Here’s what he said for BBC’s 5 Live 606 podcast (29/2/2020) in response to that fan’s question: “I think you will stay up, I don’t think you’ll go down. David Moyes going into this game, I think he would have been since he’s been in charge, bottom of the Premier League, but he’s had some tough games, but I actually thought it was a shrewd appointment getting him in.”
And the Hammers have truly been on an upswing as of late, almost becoming the first team to knock down Liverpool but then valiantly losing 3-2 in the end and then winning 3-1 against Southampton last Saturday.
Currently, they are sitting above the relegation zone, in 16th, but equal on points with both Watford and Bournemouth, who are 17th and 18th respectively.
There’s still a long way to go but there are some positive signs of life from this team and it just might be enough to pull them up from the gutters.
West Ham fans, how optimistic are you about staying up in the Premier League come the end of the season? Do you agree with Sutton’s verdict? Let us know in the comments down below!
