Newcastle United attacker Allan Saint-Maximin has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury since the start of December.

Indeed, Saint-Maximin suggested that he was itching to return to action as soon as possible as he builds back to full fitness.

The summer arrival scored his first goal for the Magpies against Sheffield United on December 5, whilst he also has a Premier League assist to his name this term.
Next up for Steve Bruce’s side is a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon, but it would be a huge shock if Saint-Maximin was in the squad.
One supporter even went as far as to call Saint-Maximin the club’s ‘only hope’, which is perhaps a touch harsh despite a run of four games without a win.
The Magpies have lost their last three in the Premier League to Manchester United, Everton and Leicester City, whilst they were held to a 1-1 draw by Rochdale in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Despite the disappointment of the result at Rochdale, one player caught the eye with a positive performance in the 1-1 draw.
