The ex-Manchester United star scored the winning goal with a stunning finish from the edge of the box just after the hour mark as Marseille edged out Nantes 2-1 in a Ligue 1 clash on Sunday. The French press had battered Greenwood after his abysmal outing against Paris Saint-Germain last week which saw Roberto De Zerbi's side lose 3-0, however, the winger quickly regained his form.

This was the 23-year-old's seventh goal of the season, which he scored in just 10 league outings. He is now Ligue 1's joint second-highest goalscorer, along with Lille and Canadian forward Jonathan David.

After Thomas Tuchel was officially announced as England's next head coach last month, Greenwood expressed his desire to represent the country of his birth and claimed that he would wait to hold talks with the German before making a final call on his future in international football. The attacker has not represented the Three Lions since 2020 when he played his first and only international game against Iceland.
