The English champions suffered their fifth straight loss across all competitions on Saturday as they faced an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. James Maddison was on fire as he netted a brace within the first 20 minutes of the match, while Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson added to City's misery with goals in the second half.

Richards, who was on punditry duties with Sky Sports, was furious to see yet another defeat for his former club as he blasted Pep Guardiola's men for lacking energy and intent on the pitch. The Cityzens have now lost three consecutive matches in the Premier League and are five points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
WHAT MICAH RICHARDS SAID
The former England international ranted, "I am flabbergasted. Spurs were excellent. Maddison was the best player on the pitch. From Man City's point of view, it is truly awful and I don't say that a lot about City. They were off it, the distances weren't correct, they were dominated in midfield, they have a lack of energy, conviction, and they didn't know how to break Spurs down.
"I thought the contract [signed by Guardiola earlier in the week] would give them a lift but it wasn't meant to be. It could have been a blip but it was more than that looking at that today. To be at the Etihad and not score in games like this, it's a bad one."
