Chelsea fans didn’t have the best of Saturdays. In fact, it was a nightmare start to the English Premier League for Blues supporters as they watched their side fall to a shock 3-2 defeat against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
An early sending off for captain Gary Cahill saw the side put under significant pressure and Sean Dyche’s men capitalised, surging to a 3-0 lead at half-time.
One of the few positives manager Antonio Conte and supporters can take from the game was the performance of Alvaro Morata, who came off the bench to produce a goal and an assist in the second half, leading a spirited comeback that didn’t quite come off.
Chelsea’s big summer signing has big boots to fill this season after Diego Costa’s impressive campaign last term but has got his Premier League career off to a flyer, despite the overall poor result.
