The England international has been a steady presence in the Gunners’ back-line, but against Manchester City in the Premier League, he like the rest of his teammates, were just cut to shreds. The Premier League champions raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time, and eventually sauntered to a comfortable victory. And as per Sofascore, it wasn’t a great day for Chambers on a personal level either.

He won just three of his eight total duels, including losing four out of five in the air. He also committed one error that led to a shot, made no tackles, and was particularly wasteful with the ball too. He completed just three of his 11 attempted long balls, and lost possession 15 times over the course of the game. And after seeing his poor display, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the defender.

In what was a truly abject afternoon for the club as a whole, Chambers’ own struggles were hardly the end of the world. The versatile defender had an off-night, and considering how he has performed over the course of the season, he is arguably one player who has a bit of credit in the bank.
