Jose Mourinho has sent a passionate message to Roma's fans after his sudden sacking by the Serie A side.

The 60-year-old was dismissed from his role on Tuesday morning after a bad run of form that involved just one win in five Serie A matches and a Coppa Italia exit at the hands of city rivals Lazio last week. Daniele de Rossi will replace the former Chelsea manager until the end of the season, with i Giallorossi currently ninth in the table. Now, Mourinho has taken to Instagram with a heartfelt parting message to the club's supporters.

The former Real Madrid manager wrote on Instagram on Tuesday night: "Sudore, sangue, lacrime, allegria, tristezza, amoR, fratelli, storia, cuore, eternità." (Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity).

Mourinho took over at Roma in May 2021 and led them to a Europa Conference League triumph a year later and then the Europa League final in 2023. The ex-Inter Milan manager has won a host of titles across Europe but his powers in the management game may be waning after this latest sacking.
