French side AS Monaco are interested in Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea. The former Manchester United keeper signed a one-year deal in 2024, with an option for an additional year. According to Fabrizio Romano, the French side have shortlisted him as one of their targets, but Fiorentina are now in talks to extend his contract until 2028.

David De Gea left Manchester United as a free agent and was signed by Fiorentina on a Bosman deal during the 2024 summer transfer window. The Spaniard enjoyed an outstanding season in Florence, keeping 11 clean sheets, which has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe. One such club is AS Monaco, who are looking to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2025/26 Champions League campaign. Fiorentina initially signed De Gea on a one-year deal with an option to extend for a further season, but his performances have prompted the club to pursue a contract extension until 2028.
