FCInternews.it is reporting that Liverpool had a scout in attendance to watch Marcelo Brozovic in the Milan derby.
What’s the story?
The 27-year-old midfielder was in terrific form against the Rossoneri as Inter won 4-2. He got himself on the scoresheet, whilst he also made one key pass and three tackles on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.54.
Much harder than you’d think… Can you name Liverpool’s top scorers for each of these 25 seasons?
One Reds scout studied the Croatia international carefully, it has been revealed.
In terms of price, he has a release clause of €60m (£50.4m) which is only available for clubs outside of Italy. The report further adds that Inter are keen on extending his contract in order to fend off interest from other clubs.
Klopp’s dream
Why would Liverpool be interested in bringing in a player that would likely cost them £50.4m, when they are 22 points clear at the top of Premier League and are yet to lose a game in the English top flight?
Well, that is because Brozovic may very well be Jurgen Klopp’s dream player. Here is someone that has absolutely everything in his locker. For a start, the former Dinamo Zagreb man has plenty of ability in attacking areas.
This season in Serie A, he has three goals and five assists, whilst he has also managed 1.5 key passes and one dribble per game too. No Liverpool midfielder has contributed to more goals in the league, whilst Brozovic would also lead the way in terms of key passes. Only Georginio Wijnaldum has managed more dribbles (1.3).

Defensively, he is arguably even better. With 2.6 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game, he once again would lead the way amongst what Klopp already has at his disposal. Even defensive midfielder Fabinho has less, with 2.3 and 1.1 respectively, whilst Jordan Henderson only has 2.2 and one.
Inspired by Frank Lampard, Brozovic is a talented footballer, and he has played at the highest level – he started for his country in the 2018 World Cup final. Klopp clearly enjoys a midfielder who can contribute in a number of areas – Henderson, for example, has three goals, four assists and 2.2 tackles per game in the Premier League.
Brozovic looks to be a ready-made fit.
Meanwhile, this Liverpool duo react to Naby Keita’s Instagram photo.
